As a newcomer to the INBOUND15 conference this year, or a returning vet, if you’re anything like me, getting your checklist in order is a top priority. To save you the stress of planning, here's your INBOUND15 Survival Guide.
Wear Comfortable Shoes
This may seem obvious, but when faced with the thought of not looking fabulous amidst tens of thousands of people, your mind can convince you that “it’s just a small heel” or “those dress shoes only crush my baby toe, that’s not so bad.” NO. Listen to your heart and what you know is true, wear sensible footwear.
Bring Your Own Travel Coffee Mug
While the conference does a great job of providing everyone’s favorite black liquid magic at various coffee stations around the convention center, there is one downfall: tiny cups. Avoid the dozens of refills and bring your own mug.

Get A Thick Strap Bag
Again, this isn’t a fashion show. Lugging around your laptop, giant personal coffee bucket, charger, and allll the free swag you can get your hands on is going to get painful quickly. Get a cross body bag or something with a thick (preferably padded) strap. Or one of those roller book-bags that you judged a lot in middle school but secretly wanted for the convenience.
Bring A Portable Phone Charger
Similar to the coffee conflict, the charging stations at INBOUND get crowded. Amidst trying to make the most of every moment at the conference, don’t let trying to charge your phone be something that interrupts your groove. Plus, you’ll hate yourself forever if your phone dies while filming Aziz Ansari’s set or trying to snap a selfie with Amy Schumer. Don’t do that to yourself (think of the Facebook likes!).
Don’t Get Drunk On The First Night
Or any night for that matter. Being hungover for a long day of seminars and workshops is not ideal. Enough said.
Enjoy It As Much As You Can
While it may seem critical that you establish big connections and shake hands with the right people, taking it all in is just as important. There’s a lot going on at INBOUND, like a lot a lot, so don’t stress yourself out over being everywhere at once. Choose events that you see the most value in, attend some that go outside of your comfort zone, and have fun learning new things and connecting with those around you.
