The Pinterest Revolution - A Perfect Tool For Inbound Marketing

BACK TO ARTICLES

ThePinterestRevolution3Let’s face it. The social media world has evolved into more than just letters and words. Remember that quote, “a picture is worth a thousand words”? Someone decided to take that phrase to a whole new level. Developed in 2013, Pinterest is one of the most creative ideas for social networking I’ve ever seen. You may be wondering why Pinterest is so revolutionary. Allow me to tell you about it.

After doing some careful research on the web-based company, my narrow scope of belief was widened to a new realm in inbound marketing. Anyone can start an account with Pinterest, which is one reason why I think it’s so great. This website allows you to share visual content with the world about things you are interested in, places you want to travel, fashion ideas, food and recipes, and so on. Each image is called a Pin and can be re-pinned by someone else who finds that particular image intriguing. Users can also create multiple pinboards to display their content by category. But how does this apply to inbound marketing and professional corporations?

Pinterest recently released their Pinterest for Business addition to the website that allows companies to join as a business rather than an individual user, similar to the concept of Facebook Pages. This allows a business to pin different images that deal with their brand or product and can provide a connection with buyer personas. An additional feature that Pinterest now offers to business profiles is the ability to embed a Pin It button on their personal website. Similar to the Like or Tweet buttons, Pin It connects a consumer directly to the company’s content and let’s them post it on their own personal Pinterest board.

The fascinating part about all of this information: Pinterest tracks your traffic and pins for you. The dedicated Pinterest team analyzes the traffic to your Pinterest page, re-pins of your content, and traffic to your company’s website via the Pin It button. This call-to-action, aka Pin It button, creates a huge domino effect in the Pinterest Revolution for your brand.

Google Chrome recently added the Pin It button as an extension available for download to anyone. The great part about this extension is it allows you to pin virtually anything visual on a webpage when using a Google Chrome browser. Whether you’re surfing Google Images or Food Network’s best cake ideas, Pinterest and Google Chrome have you set up for some serious pinning.

So why not use Pinterest? This social network is easy and fun to use, creates traffic to your company’s brand, and allows you to be visually creative. Join today and see just how much fun it can be to spread the word about your company through visuals, rather than words.
